AMERICORPS
AmeriCorps/National Preparedness & Response Corp (NPRC)
The National Preparedness and Response Corps (NPRC) will provide vital emergency assistance to victims and communities affected by disasters, educate communities on how to save lives by teaching First Aid and CPR, and increase preparedness in the areas of greatest need before disasters strike. The NPRC, sponsored by the American Red Cross and funded by an AmeriCorps grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service, is the foremost young adult disaster service corps in the nation.
The NPRC will help to expand the reach of the Red Cross in our communities and build our capacity in order to better serve the people of Sangamon, Christian, Logan, Menard, Montgomery, and Macoupin, Coles and Clark counties. They will respond to local emergencies, teach First Aid and CPR, deliver Meals on Wheels, provide Respite services, recruit volunteers for the Red Cross, and educate our youth and community members on disaster preparedness and safety.
Additional information is available online at www.americorps.org.
