The Red Cross offers a variety of programs to communicate important safety information to school age children, as well as to the entire community. All presentations are offered free of charge, at your convenience.
Vital Information: American Red Cross Disaster Preparedness presentations provide youth with the tools they need to prepare for and prevent disaster.
Empowerment: The American Red Cross is dedicated to maintaining sustainable programs designed to instill youth with the knowledge that they are not helpless in the event of a disaster.
Wide Range of Programs: Responding to 2-3 disasters a week, your local ARC recognizes the importance of disaster preparedness education. We offer presentations on:

- Fire Safety (puppet show available)
- Tornados (puppet show available)
- Floods
- Storms
- Earthquakes
- Heat Waves
- Terrorism
Safer Youth = Safer Communities
- Disaster and Health & Safety presentations are FREE and provided to our local communities as a service of the Illinois Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
- All presentations incorporate key points, are time-flexible, and cater to groups both large and small, so they can be tailored to suit the needs of your organization. Most sessions average 30-60 minutes long.
First Aid, CPR and AED Courses
American Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs ware designed to help you learn and remember valuable lifesaving skills and knowledge. We translate the consensus of medical science into practical, easy-to-understand information for the American public. Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED programs are available for any age group and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you.
